How can I keep the humidity up in my Ball Python's tank?

95 degrees is a little too hot for even the hotside of your snake's tank. 89-91 is good for the hotside. By reducing the temperature a little may keep the humidity up a little longer too after you mist his tank because it won't dry up as fast. Proper humidity for ball pythons is beneficial on the floor level of the cage because your snake spends most if not all of it's time there. With that said, you will need to increase the humidity bearing characteristics of your bedding. This can be achieved by adding a semi moist substrate to your existing substrate like peat moss, Bed a Beast or. Eco Earth. Once you mix these substates together, mist the cage and you will be able to see the difference. Remember to not over mist your snake's cage because it will become too soggy and, mist with warm water. You can also partially cover the top of your snake's cage to prevent some of the humidity from escaping. When a pet ball python goes into shed it will normally stay in it's shelter/hide to ride out it's shed time. At this time, move your snake's water dish as close as you can to it's shelter. By doing this, beneficial water vapor will enter your snake's hide and increase the humidity level in there. This technique can play a role in facilitating a healthier shed out and, consider a larger water bowl.
