What is the best thing you have ever cooked?
There is a casserole in the Greens Cookbook based on a traditional Northern Italian dish called Pizzocher. It has NOTHING to do with pizza, however. It's buckwheat noodles, called pizzocher, mixed with sauteed leeks, Savoy cabbage, potatoes, butter, garlic, sage, sea salt, black pepper, a little red pepper for a touch of zing, Fontina and I think Grana Padano or Parmegiano Regiano cheeses, with a little Romano. It's the very best thing I think I've ever eaten. I'm also REALLY fond of salads w/ pears (preferably a ripe comice) or apples, walnuts or pecans, dried cherries and/or cranberries and a mild bleu cheese like a Danish Bleu. And I have several favorite other dishes including: Salmon, Chicken Curry, Lemon Basil Creme Fettuccine, Almond Croissants, Lemon Tart w/ Raspberry Coulis, Fruit Tart w/ Lemon Pastry Creme, Rice Pudding, Green Split Pea Soup, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Sushi, Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Lattice Pie, Clafoutis made w/ dark cherries and plums, Pumpkin Pie w/ Cinnamon Whipped Cream, okay pretty much ANY dessert as long as it's not too sweet. Oh and Gratinee (French Onion Soup) and Scalloped Potatoes with Carmellized Onions, Sauteed Mushrooms and Gruyere. And, of course, SUSHI!!!.
